Obtaining
Successful Thieving actions that award positive base XP can unlock Brasswing. Failed actions and actions with zero XP do not roll for the pet. The roll stops after the account owns it.
Drop chance
The chance per successful action is 1 − exp(−X / 2,500,000), where X is that action's base XP, capped at 1,000,000 for this roll. Bonus XP does not increase the chance.

Chances are rounded. These are separate pet rolls rather than entries in the action's item drop table.
Passive effect
2% chance to double pickpocket loot. The effect is active from account ownership; Brasswing does not need to be the equipped follower.
The perk doubles item and coin loot from successful pickpockets. It does not double the action's XP or grant an XP bonus.
